Dryden Native Friendship Centre

Receptionist

Dryden Native Friendship Centre is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Receptionist –Contract. In collaboration with Receptionist, this position is responsible for greeting guests to the Dryden Native Friendship Centre, performing a variety of clerical duties, and maintaining office supplies.

SCHEDULE:

Regular full-time hours. Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, 35 hours per week. Some flexibility to meet program needs.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Greeting Visitors/ Clients and alerting the relevant staff of the arrival;

  • Answer the phone, providing general information appropriately, and transferring calls as required

  • Process Mail & Faxes, distributing accordingly.

  • Maintain established tracking systems.

  • Maintain Hall/Vehicle Rental Schedule;

  • Assist with Event Coordination & Hall Set-up as required.

  • Database input and maintenance of DNFC internal tracking logs; e.g., Guest sign-in, Computer usage log, etc.

  • Perform monthly reporting of data

  • Maintain inventory of essential office supplies, kitchen essentials and cleaning supplies;

  • Complete purchasing process as required.

  • Assist with file management system, including establishing & maintaining easily accessible filing system in area of responsibility.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative position, customer service, clerical position, or equivalent.

  • Secondary education in Administration is an asset

  • An acceptable Criminal Reference Check will be a condition of employment

  • Ability to speak and understand Ojibway or Oji-Cree, is an asset.

  • Experience working with Indigenous people and communities is an asset

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Knowledge and experience with filing systems

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Good decision making and problem-solving capabilities

  • Experience with data management

  • Excellent collaboration skills

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

  • Good digital skills – ability to use a printer, a computer, and digital filing systems

  • Experience with fax machines is an asset

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Experience with purchase orders is an asset

  • Experience with information management is an asset

WORK CONDITIONS & REMUNERATION:

  • Working in a shared office environment

  • $23.00 per hour remuneration
