Home Maintenance Service

This support service is arranged for an individual worker to undertake a home maintenance and repair job. Generally, the job is beyond the direct-service user’s or their caregiver’s capability to undertake or arrange by themselves, or with the help of friends, or family. The job may be undertaken regularly, occasionally or one time only. Examples of regular jobs include heavy house cleaning, yard maintenance, snow shovelling, and washing outside windows. One-time jobs include helping the participant arrange home repairs and renovations. The service includes heavy housekeeping that is undertaken on an infrequent or periodic basis.

 

Examples include but are not confined to:

  • Seasonal housecleaning

  • Washing indoor walls 

  • Washing of drapes/slipcovers/upholstery    

  • Indoor window washing  

  • Scrubbing cupboards       

  • Cleaning out wood burning stoves

Homemaking Service

Support services provided within the LLCP participant home to ensure they are living in a safe, clean, and secure environment independently. Generally, the services provided are beyond the direct-service user’s or their caregiver’s capability to undertake or arrange by themselves, or with the help of friends, or family. This support may be provided on a regular, occasional, or one-time basis based on direct-service user needs through a LLCP CSW, volunteer or contracted third-party.

Examples include:

  • Housecleaning

  • Laundry

  • Ironing

  • Mending

  • Shopping

  • Banking

  • Paying bills    

  • Planning menus

  • Caring for children

  • Assisting an individual with any of the above
