EarlyOn Centre – Family Resource Worker – Contract Position

The Dryden Native Friendship Centre (DNFC) is currently accepting resumes for the position of EarlyOn Centre – Family Resource Worker – Contract Position - 3 months to 1 year but not beyond the return of the incumbent.

The Family Resource Worker will report to the Daycare Supervisor. 


Schedule:

Regular full-time hours. Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, 35 hours per week. Some flexibility to meet program needs.


JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Cultivate authentic relationships with children, families, community, and coworkers

  • Coordinate, plan and facilitate programs for parents and children, specifically for, but not limited to, the Dryden Urban Indigenous Homeward Bound Program participants

  • Ensure that all program environments are conducive to child development outcomes

  • Ensure the EarlyOn Centre room is kept clean, and all programming materials are in good condition

  • Prepares quarterly activity reports including statistics on number of parents and children utilizing the Centre

  • Maintain statistics as it relates to the Centre and ensure submission of reports as required


 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A Two-year diploma in Early Childhood Education is preferred, lived experience may be considered equivalent

  • 1 year experience in an early years or child care program

  • Experience in program reporting

  • Previous experience with budgeting for program expenses is an asset

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced work environment with frequent interruptions

  • Ability to work independently and as a team, with minimal supervision

  • Must have First Aid with infant CPR and WHMIS/GHS or ability to obtain

  • Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector, is a requirement of the employment offer.

  • Up to date immunization record with a 2-Step TB test or ability to obtain

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Awareness & appreciation of Indigenous culture and foods

  • Ability to speak Ojibwe or Oji-Cree is an asset

  • Drivers abstract and access to a reliable vehicle for grocery shopping required and be willing to travel on occasion for business or training



Work Conditions & Remuneration

  • Working in the EarlyOn Centre within the Daycare

  • Offsite programming within the community

  • $22.00 -$30.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience
